    We’re searching for a Cloud Engineer to join our quest toward the inevitable volumetric future of massive, shared, and deeply interactive worlds.

    You will own the overall backend architecture of the server-side components, you will be responsible for the automation of our on-demand backend servers, integrate backend APIs, and more.

    You can either work with us remotely, or join us in our studio located at the heart of the historical downtown of Bratislava, Slovakia.

    Your responsibilities:

    • Automatic deployment and scaling of on-demand backend servers
    • Integrate existing (and create new!) backend APIs to support user-facing features
    • Own the overall backend architecture of server-side components (file persistence, auto-scaling on demand with a cost-optimized hybrid dedicated/cloud model, user auth for browser/native standalone/mobile clients)
    • Improve observability at various layers of our architecture along with alerting/monitoring of critical systems

    Required skills and knowledge:

    • Comfortable debugging and deploying to a Linux server environment
    • Familiarity with at least one hyperscale cloud environment (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • Packaging and deploying containerized applications
    • Bootstrapping bare metal remote servers (IPMI, kvm rescue methods)
    • Minio or other S3 API blob storage systems

    Nice-to-haves:

    • Ability to develop and maintain our own web-based CRUD system, where creators can upload and manage their source data and resulting voxel data that are generated through voxelization of that source data
    • You’re comfortable debugging across the entire stack
    • Experience with TeamCity or other CI/CD systems, especially automated integration tests
    • Experience with WebAssembly and Emscripten
    • VMWare ESXi (Windows/macOS/Linux VMs, VLANs across multiple hosts)
    • Experience with any software we self-host: GitLab, Zulip, Keycloak, Grafana, Loki, Harbor, Tusd, Minio, Sentry

    Compensation

    3000 EUR – 5000 EUR (depending on your skills and experience)
    Our compensation package includes cash compensation as stated above. You will also be awarded stock options on a standard vesting schedule in Atomontage s.r.o.’s parent company Atomontage Inc.
