This is a work from home position based anywhere in Slovakia.
This role will involve selecting and leading a small team of developers to continue to build and enhance the Pinsight line of web-based SaaS products. This will include working with both front and back ends of applications. This is a critical role with plenty of potential for growth, personal development, and leadership. We are looking for an accomplished lead developer with a broad skill set and an extensive knowledge base who, ideally, also has experience in growing SaaS start-ups or scale-ups. The position reports to Pinsight’s Chief Technical Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Select, develop, mentor and lead a small technical team.
• Design, develop, test, maintain, deliver and support full stack SaaS solutions to fit the business needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues to understand business requirements, design complex solutions, and improve processes.
• Innovate and ensure best practices and processes.
• Design complex solutions and lead them from inception to production within an Agile team environment.
• Develop and maintain complex front-end solutions and back-end systems.
• Create and maintain DevOps processes, application infrastructure, and utilize cloud services (including database systems and models).
• Provide feedback on user stories and product specification documents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and be a team player.
• Able to work flexible hours to communicate with US based colleagues in other time zones.
Qualifications, experience, technical knowledge, and leadership skills and qualities:
• Excellent English language skills and able to communicate verbally and in writing.
• University degree or equivalent in Information Systems, Computer Science or Engineering.
• Work Experience: Minimum 5 years of software development technical experience; team leadership experience; experience in an Agile engineering or development team environment; ability to work in a Linux-based environment.
• Critical technical knowledge and operational experience with: Backend development includes Linux, Docker, Node JS, Nginx, and PHP; frontend development includes Angular, React, CSS, and HTLM5; symfony IDE/Framework; JavaScript, DOM, JSON, Git, and GitLab; tools and libraries such as Atom, PHPStorm, and WEBStorm; MySQL; automation tools such as SecurityChecker, CodeSniffer, and Gitrunner; cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, and Digital Ocean; experience developing web-based and mobile SaaS applications; restful service API experience; software testing principles; software development processes and tools such as Agile, Scrum and Trello.
• Additional desirable technical skills: OWASP and OAuth2; Ubuntu; Ansible, Prettier, Lint, and PHPStan; The R Project for Statistical Computing.
• Leadership skills and qualities: Effective and collaborative communication skills; analytical and critical thinking skills; diagnosis and problem-solving skills; learning orientation; creativity; self-motivated and driven; organized, structured, and attentive to detail; team development and leadership skills; able to work well under pressure on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
